National Recognition of NMSU Engagement Activity

The Faculty, Staff, and Students at New Mexico State University undertake countless community engagement projects each year which have, regional, state-wide and international impacts. NMSU has been recognized nationally for its efforts in community engagement and strives to recognize and celebrate the community engagement facilitated by members of our campus community. From backyard gardens to high-tech laboratories, in classrooms, clinics and kitchens, New Mexico State University’s faculty, staff, students and others are involved in programs and partnerships that benefit communities across New Mexico. In recognition of its institutional commitment to serving these communities, NMSU has been selected to receive a 2015 Community Engagement Classification from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

APLU Innovation and Economic Prosperity University Designation

horizontal-designationNew Mexico State University has been designated an Innovation and Economic Prosperity University by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities and its Commission on Innovation, Competitiveness and Economic Prosperity. The designation acknowledges universities working with public and private sector partners in their states and regions to support economic development through a variety of activities, including innovation and entrepreneurship, technology transfer, talent and workforce development, and community development.
