The Office of the VPED is a central point of contact to learn about and access services to launch or grow a business venture; to understand local, regional, and state economies; or to discover initiatives underway to advance wealth creation for New Mexico.
Arrowhead Center was created by NMSU to be an engine for sustainable economic development, ultimately improving the quality of life for all New Mexicans. Arrowhead Center links researchers and entrepreneurs with ideas to solve market problems and take advantage of market opportunities that will keep New Mexico on the leading edge of discovery and sustainable economic growth. Offering entrepreneurial research and training, a technology business incubator and Research Park, intellectual property services, and public policy research and analysis, Arrowhead Center is working to grow the regional innovation economy.

Started with $2 million in funding from the U.S. Economic Development Administration and NMSU, AIN got underway in late 2012 to support Launch and to help build a vibrant economy for southern New Mexico and west Texas. With partners across the region, AIN is using resources at NMSU to support invention, innovation, and entrepreneurism. Visit AIN’s website to learn how you can be a part of this exciting initiative.
Studio G was created in 2011 to develop energized, connected, and creative student entrepreneurs looking to launch startup companies. Teams selected to participate receive workspace, phone and Internet lines, a conference room and other administrative resources. NMSU’s Career Services works to connect students and industry, providing many resources to assist with career planning and employment goals through work-study, cooperative education, internships, as well as part-time and full-time employment opportunities. Career Services also hosts workshops on financial literacy, resume building, interview skills, and Career Fairs that are open to current students, alumni, and community members. - New Mexico Small Business Development Centers Network: NM SBDC offers free assistance in business planning, marketing, finance, entrepreneurial training, and other business startup and expansion issues. An office located at Doña Ana Community College serves the Las Cruces area.
- New Mexico Economy Reports: This series of 35 economic base studies covers regional economic growth, short and long term economic forecasts, potential growth sectors, and potential problem areas.
